FUJIFILM Creative Village designed by KOKUYO Co., Ltd. (Japan)

FUJIFILM Creative Village, a center of creativity consisting of two buildings, “CLAY”, Fujifilm's design development base, and “Its”, its IT development base, has been established. The aim is to maximize the creativity and performance of designers and IT engineers, to promote innovation by deepening mutual collaboration, and to create innovative products and services to solve social issues.

The concept of placemaking is the "Studio for creating together". All 80 members of the design department are involved in all design process from the products that make up the building through co-creation, architecture, equipment, and interior design to furniture and signage.

The building features a solid concrete exterior and wide latticed windows, it pursuits functional beauty by eliminating superfluous things that respects the Bauhaus philosophy. This is composed of an accumulation of products that have been carefully selected down to the smallest detail, exudes a sense of sharp tension that stimulates creativity.

Each floor is organized around the themes of "immersion," "liberation," and "exaltation,". On the ground floor, long desks facing the windows is a place where people can "immerse" themselves in design. Meanwhile, the 10-meter atrium and grand staircase connecting the first and second floors symbolize "liberation" and allow people to naturally feel the presence of others and create diverse communication. The underground floor has an 8-meter-high hall under the theme of "exaltation" to accelerate co-creation with external design organizations for presentations, cross-industrial collaboration, workshops, andacademia- industry collaboration, etc. It is also equipped with a prototyping room with a 3D printer and painting booth, a photography studio, and other facilities to stimulate designers' creativity and maximize their performance.

On the environmental side, the facade is double-skinned to reduce the load on air conditioning and lighting, and all electricity used in the facility is derived from renewable energy sources to achieve carbon neutrality.
