The Sky Space designed by Das Lab (China)

Collision and Fusion The DAS Lab's reinterpretation of THE SKY SPACE creates a new scene without limitations, emphasizing commercial logic and providing aesthetic value while ensuring operational efficiency. This multifaceted space combines a café, bar, bookstore, market, and art gallery, reflecting freedom and versatility. The design draws inspiration from various coffee utensils, restructuring their forms to create layered and interconnected spaces.

Materials and Elements

  • Black, Wood Grain, and Stone: These elements create a luxurious yet understated and richly textured space.

  • Sustainability: The project integrates recycled coffee grounds into cork, promoting environmental sustainability.

  • Lighting and Ambiance: An intelligent lighting system enhances the space's versatility, ensuring a range of experiences.

Design Philosophy DAS Lab focuses on subtle yet impactful elements, creating a lasting and sustainable environment. The design explores the essence of coffee from bean to ground, integrating these textures into the space. The intelligent lighting and versatile layout support various functions, from art exhibitions to weekend markets, fostering emotional connections with consumers.

Unique Features The space benefits from excellent indoor-outdoor experiences, with outdoor platforms over large water areas. The design breaks rigid boundaries and blends interior and exterior spaces using circular blocks and a combination of frosted acrylic and aged metal. By day, it serves as a café filled with the aroma of freshly ground coffee. By night, it transforms into a softly lit bar.
