GOLD WINNING PROJECT
WUHAN WUSHANG MALL CINEMA 9F
Designed by One Plus Partnership Limited
The designers adopted the rotating motion of film reels as the theme of this cinema, captured and portrayed in an impactful and modernistic movie-viewing environment.
The designer’s bold adaptation of circular installation is rarely found in interior design. The application of circular decorations and patterns is tough to manage in interior design, as the plan would quickly be deemed fancy and feminine, most designers and clients thus prevent using circular elements in their designs. The designers’ choice of materials and layout of the round plates have successfully created an elegant atmosphere in the cinema, breaking the limitation of circular shapes.
SILVER WINNING PROJECT
MUJI HOTEL GINZA
Designed by Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd./UDS Ltd.
The design concept of “Anti-gorgeous, Anti-cheap” inspired the design of the 6th floor. Using materials such as wood, stone, soil, iron, and textiles, among which are reclaimed paving stones from Tokyo Toden said to be around 100-years old and sheets of iron from decommissioned ships. Together, they emit their sheer beauty and offer rich flavors of time and history. At “WA,” visitors can enjoy Japanese delicacies inspired by the Chef’s travels throughout the country’s various regions, featuring ingredients cultivated in Japan’s temperate climate.
BRONZE WINNING PROJECT
Taiza Onsen SUMIHEI “KINEAN” (Kyotango, KYOTO)
Designed by Supermaniac Inc
"SUMIHEI" is a ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel) established over 140 years ago in Kyotango. Kyotango is located in the northernmost area of Kyoto, and the coastline is extended with beautiful scenery. Also, Kyotango is a treasure-trove of food, especially seafood, such as Taiza snow crabs, and it is the largest hot spring resort in Kyoto. Kyotango's rich natural landscapes such as the sea, mountains, and highlands make the changing of the four seasons outstandingly clear.
BRONZE WINNING PROJECT
Snail Games Japan
Designed by THE TRIANGLE.JP CO.,LTD
As you enter through the evocative orange passageway, you begin to feel a sense of expectancy. Once inside the office space, columns universally follow the shape of hexahedrons, making you feel as if you are wandering into a low-poly game world. Negative space created by these columns gives you the sense of depth in the office. Parts of structures transform into benches, tables, and doors, and these columns separate space, creating paths and rooms. This core concept composes the entire design not just as ornamental but as a crucial functional element suitable for a game content company.
