Marunouchi Street Park 2021 Summer designed by NOMURA Co., Ltd

Marunouchi Street Park is a pilot project that transforms the streets of one of Japan’s leading business districts into a 300m-long park emphasizing the value of connections between community, culture and people.

The area is divided into three blocks, each with distinct themes connected to city life: wellness, culture and ’PARKcation’.

In the year of the Tokyo Olympics and faced with nationwide travel restrictions, the summer 2021 edition sought to create a pleasant outdoor space evoking the feel of a far-flung summer resort. 

The event space was set up on the paved street in just 10 hours overnight and was open for 42 days in midsummer 2021.
