Tokyo headquarters of Mercari, who has become Japan's largest community-powered online marketplace.
The concept is “Support YOUR Choice, Embody Foundations”
The Tokyo headquarters offers a variety of highly functional work and communication spaces, providing an environment where employees can work in their own way according to their individual work styles.For example, there is a Focus area where individuals can concentrate on their work, a Project area perfect for project collaboration, a Lounge where people can work in a different atmosphere, and an Ideation area where ideas can be visualized on a whiteboard and communication can take place. The 4,000 m2 circular area is made up of a variety of spaces, creating a variety of scenes as visitors move around the office.
The office also serves as a place to foster culture by expressing the values that form the foundation of Mercari through its office functions and design.
Reflecting the business's commitment to sustainable activities, existing fixtures are upcycled and scraps of interior materials are combined to create new forms and functions with virtually no use of new fixtures.
The wall graphics that accent each area express the company's foundation of Diversity & Inclusion. An office that is unique to Mercari, where diverse values coexist was realized.
